Brushing

Brush your teeth at least twice a day, morning and night, using a soft-bristled brush and fluoride toothpaste.

Place the brush at a 45-degree angle to the gums. Gently move the brush in small circles (half-a-tooth-wide). Brush the inner tooth surfaces. Start on the upper right and move to the upper left. Continue in this fashion. Don’t skip around. Pretend you are mopping a floor. You would do this in an orderly manner and not haphazardly.

Brush the chewing surfaces. Use the “toe” of the brush for the inner front tooth surfaces. Brush your tongue, reaching as far back as possible. The tongue, particularly the back part, is often the source of bad breath.

We also recommend the Sonicare toothbrush.
